The Badger NAMA Chapter spent part of the day at ABS Global, Inc. on Thursday, July 7th. Over 20 marketing professionals attended a tour of the DeForest facilities before heading to ABS Dekorra for additional tours and the opportunity to see a semen collection.
The ABS Dekorra historical barn was host to a meeting following the tours that featured several of ABS’ marketing group. After a brief welcome from John Rozum, Advertising and Promotions Manager Brenda Gilbertson took the stage to give the group a brief overview of the ABS marketing department and materials.
Todd Kronberg, Director of Strategic Marketing, was next on the agenda, and discussed the ABS market focus, opportunities and influences on the dairy market. He also spoke briefly about Genomics and how ABS is using it as a tool. Beef Marketing Specialist Katy Kemp followed with a thorough look at the ABS beef program and the “Pasture to Plate” genetics theme that ABS is known for.
From an international perspective, Kylene Anderson (Sorted Semen Marketing Specialist), addressed the group. Kylene provided an international dairy overview, and shared some of the tools and programs that ABS uses to market its product to over 80 countries worldwide.
